progression on the gardener’s journal…

my mom’s been so kind as to do the embroidery on these two blocks:

 and when she had finished, the sewing machine and i did these:

so that was 6 out of 9 blocks done, 4-9 given to my mom for more embroidering…

here are the fourth bunch of fabrics for the gardener’s journal quilt. i’m always hoping for greens and browns, but get so much blue! anyway, we’ll see how it works out. since i’ve given the three finished blocks to my mom for embroydering, i’ll have to let these rest a while before sewing ’em up. i need to see the bigger picture you know…

 i’m “subscribing” to this quilt from kathrines quiltestue (pattern from hatched and patched). every month i get a piece of 8 different fabrics to make one of the nine blocks the quilt consists of. i’m done patching up the third block, but the two last ones still need their embroidery to be finished. i may take my mom up on her offer of helping me finish it, since there’s still not more than 24 hours in a day…
